Which Democratic candidate for Virginia Lieutenant Governor is the most electable?
The first-ever article at State Navigate is live.
Virginia Navigate is proud to announce that it is the first subsidiary of State Navigate to have a new, original article on state governance.
President Chaz Nuttycombe, who, with Development Director Jack Kersting and Vice President Michael Foley, created the most accurate forecast of the 2023 Virginia state legislative elections and in 2021 was the first forecaster to have Glenn Youngkin as the favorite to win the gubernatorial election that year, has returned to the scene of Virginia elections, one day after the launch of Virginia Navigate.
Democratic primary voters tend to rank perceived ‘electability’ high on their list of reasons why to support a candidate. So what are the strengths and weaknesses of each candidate in the wide-open primary race for Lieutenant Governor? Nuttycombe explores the relevant bonuses and penalties for each candidate that voters will likely weigh in their decision.
State Senator Aaron Rouse of Virginia Beach, Mayor Levar Stoney of Richmond, and Ghazala Hashmi are the frontrunners for the six-way race, so before voters go to the polls, it’s worth answering the ‘electability’ question.
You can read the article here, which is only viewable on the Virginia Navigate ‘News from Us’ section of the website. Stay tuned for more reporting and analysis for this year’s Virginia elections!
After the primary, State Navigate will host its first-ever fundraiser and forecast launch. On June 29th in the Richmond, Virginia area, State Senator Schuyler VanValkenburg (D) and Delegate Terry Kilgore (R) will join the State Navigate team and politicos around the Commonwealth in enjoying early access to the 2025 general election forecast.
